Our mission is to forward the understanding of key historical and current cultural practices in the visual arts, architecture, music, and dance. We teach interdisciplinary courses that address an array of American, European, and world traditions. Our faculty and our programs foster global engagement with the arts through various means, ranging from scholarly publications and public workshops to performances, museum exhibitions and entrepreneurship. We prepare students for a variety of art and music related career paths. We offer B.A. degrees in areas such as art history, music history cultures, and the history of architecture.
